ASCO Pneumatic Control products are manufactured at 6 sites on 3 continents to meet the wide ranging requirements found around the world. Products include 2, 3, and 4 way valves with #10-32 to 1" port sizes, flows to 12.5 Cv, in-line and manifoldable constructions and choice of body materials and elastomers.

The 4 way valves are available with poppet, spool or slide constructions. Air preparation equipment includes stand alone or modular filters, regulators and lubricators (FRLs). Actuators meet ISO, VDMA, AFNOR and CETOP standards and include short stroke cylinders. For leading edge technologies, ASCO provides Sentronic electropneumatic proportional valves as well as Buslink and Multipol valve islands.

MULTIPOL Valve Island Systems

Advantages
  • Complicated and cumbersome wiring is eliminated.
  • Connection time and money saved with centralized, direct electrical cabling and common air supply.
  • Visual indicators and fast cut-off for easy maintenance.
  • Delivered pre-tested and equipped with spool valves.

Features
  • Built-in connections designed for 4 to 32
  • spool valves - #10-32, 1/8" NPT or 1/4" NPT port sizes.
  • All spool valves on one manifold are connected by a single multi-wire cable and a D type connector.
  • LED visual indicator for each coil; auxiliary manual overrides on each valve.
  • Common supply pressure to all valves on manifold/island. Built-in exhaust outlets in
  • sub-base for environmental protection.

Island Design Possibilities
  • The following islands can be constructed with the MULTIPOL system:
  • Different quantities of spaces for 4 to 32 single or dual solenoid valves with all functions adaptable on the same island.
  • Different sized islands for spool valves of Series 519, 520 or 521 (valves must be the same size).
  • Maximum number of islands in a design depends on the number of input/output cards which a PC or PLC can receive.
  • 2 versions: single module for single solenoid spool valves (5/2), or dual module for single or double spool valves.

BUSLINK Valve Island Systems

Advantages
  • Complicated and cumbersome wiring is eliminated.
  • Connection time and money saved with centralized, direct electrical cabling and common air supply.
  • Visual indicators and fast cut-off for easy maintenance; delivered pre-tested and equipped with spool valves.

Features
  • Islands with built-in connections are designed for 4 to 32 spool valves - #10-32 , 1/8" NPT or 1/4" NPT port sizes.
  • All spool valves on one manifold are connected by means of a twisted pair cable: RS485.
  • LED visual indicator for each coil; auxiliary manual overrides on each valve.
  • One common supply pressure to all valves on manifold/island.
  • Built-in exhaust outlets in the sub-base for environmental protection.

Communications Features

The Profibus-DP protocol valve island systems offer:
  • Compatibility with PROFIBUS-DP and SINEC L2-DP (complying with standard DIN 19245 - part 1).
  • Transmission of control data via shielded twisted pair cable with RS485 connectors.
  • Up to 28 to 31 valve islands per segment with a maximum of 119 islands with 16 spool valves per island.
  • Bus cabling lengths up to 3,900 feet per segment; as much as 10,500 feet between segments and 20 ft with repeaters.
  • Automatic baud selection between 9.6K to 1,500K.
  • No modifications necessary with current PLC programs (SIEMANS compatible).

The Interbus-S protocol valve island systems offer:
  • Compatibility with INTERBUS-S.
  • Transmission of control data via 3 twisted pair cables with RS485 connectors.
  • As many as 64 islands of 16 bistable valves or 256 islands of 4 bistable valves.
  • Bus cabling lengths can be as much as 1,300 feet per segment with a maximum of 42,500 feet.
  • Baud selection is pre-set at 500K and island addressing is automatic.
  • No modifications necessary with current PLC programs (SIEMANS, BOSCH, KLOCKNER, MOELLER, AEG, KLASCHKA, GE FANUC, IBM PC and VME compatible).
The DeviceNet protocol valve island systems offer:
  • Compatibility with DEVICENET (Allen Bradley) and CAN-BUS (ISO-DIS 11898).
  • Transmission of control data via 2 twisted pair cables.
  • As many as 63 islands of 4 to 32 spool valves can be bussed and up to 32 inputs/outputs per island.
  • Bus cabling lengths can be as much as 500 meters depending upon baud rate selected.
  • Baud selection is adjustable between 125K, 250K and 500K with DIP switches.
  • No modifications necessary with current control systems programs (ALLEN BRADLEY, PC Card compatibility).
