Description
These valves are designed to eliminate water
hammer problems experienced i many water and light oil systems. Their
unique slow closing construction reduces the pressure spike which causes
water hammer to a level eliminiating the need for suppressors or other
controls.
Evaluations per Fluid Controls Institute Inc. Standard FCI-82-1
(Recommended Methods for Testing and Classifying the Water Hammer
Characteristics of Electricaly Operated Valves) have classified these
valves as follows:

Solenoid Enclosures: Valves listed in this series have either
Red-Hat metal solenoid enclosures or Red-Hat II molded epoxy solenoids.
Red-Hat II valves are identified by the change letter "G" in
their catalog numbers, e.g., 8221G1, and are shown in red.
