Their unique slow closing construction reduces the pressure spike which causes water hammer to a level eliminiating the need for suppressors or other controls. Evaluations per Fluid Controls Institute Inc. Standard FCI-82-1 (Recommended Methods for Testing and Classifying the Water Hammer Characteristics of Electricaly Operated Valves) have classified these valves as follows: Pipe Sizes   FCI-82-1 Class ³/8", ½", ¾" 1", 1¼", 1½", 2", 2½"   CC BB Specifications Solenoid Enclosures: Valves listed in this series have either Red-Hat metal solenoid enclosures or Red-Hat II molded epoxy solenoids.
